I want to let you all know about the Praxis Gathering Conference in Philadelphia next month! I’m honored to present at this year’s event, and will have the opportunity to share about neighboring in small town and rural ministry contexts. The entire gathering will be focusing on placed based ministry, and the art of loving the neighborhoods and towns where God has planted us.
Other speakers and workshop leaders include folks like J.R. Woodward (National Director of V3 Movement & Co-founder of Praxis Gathering, Author of Creating a Missional Culture), Michael Frost (Author of Incarnate and Shaping of Things to Come), and Deb Hirsch (Co-Founder of Forge Mission Training & Author of Redeeming Sex), and MANY more! I’m excited to learn from others who are such gifted leaders, and to have an opportunity to share about the joys and challenges of small town ministry. Also, I’m not the only presenter focusing on rural ministry, so if you’ve been waiting for a conference with training that focuses on your ministry context, Praxis Gathering is it!

About Praxis Gathering:
The essence of God is love (1 John 4:8). When God’s love was poured into the world it looked like Jesus moving into the Nazareth Neighborhood. God himself lingered for 30 years in a place, showing us that the world is not transformed from lofty stages but from the streets. The Church is now compelled, not as those fearing, but as those searching how the Kingdom of God is breaking into our particular and peculiar neighborhoods. This year at the Praxis Gathering we’re submerging into a theology and practice of Loving our Neighborhood. We’ll explore the unique possibilities in the urban, suburban and rural contexts. Join us and 250 + other missional practitioners to be equipped, nourished and sent back into the world.
Practitioners
For the third annual Praxis Gathering, we will plummet deep into the hands-on-work of Loving our Neighborhood with unique emphasis on the challenges and opportunities facing rural, suburban and urban contexts. We’ve gathered some of the best on-the-ground church planters and practitioners to equip us in fresh practices for dwelling in these local places. Additionally we’re excited to offer Neighborhood Immersions, which are missional labs into real-time places in Philly.
